This weekend was supposed to be spent in Atlanta - but because of how sick I continue to be and some ahem behavior issues on Kylee's part, we stayed home. I was disappointed to not see my Atlanta friends but today was something I needed more than I even knew.
We woke up and ate a nice breakfast in our formal dining room, on our fiine china and used our crystal just because.
We went to church and felt overwhelmly welcomed after not having been in a few months. The service was fantastic and I found myself wiping tears from my face on several separate occasions. I am so thankful for a church family that He uses to bring me to those moments.
We went out to eat after church and it just happened to be Kids Eat Free, which is always an added bonus and when pulling out of the restaurant, I saw a familiar face of a friend that no longer lives in Ocala. It looked an awful lot like my friend Taylor's husband. They moved to Crystal River years ago so I doubted it was actually him, but I made a phone call, just in case. Taylor and I have lost touch over the years but it only takes a few moments to pick up right where we left off and she will always be one of those my life would never have been the same without you type of friends. I was so happy to find out they were actually in town for a child's birthday party so we met up in a parking lot so I could get a peek at her newborn baby. She has such a precious family now, it is just so hard to believe all that has changed in the past 5 years!
We had a nice Sunday afternoon nap before getting some Christmas shopping done - only this time it was for a good cause. We had Kylee help us pick out some gifts for an event at church giving to needy families and wrapped up our weekend with an impromptu dinner with my mom and some of her crazy girlfriends. A perfect Sunday, indeed.
